Need an Editor? I’m available for manuscript consultations!
Apart from writing itself, there is nothing I enjoy more than working with other writers and helping them achieve their creative goals. What we work on together will be held in complete confidence and I will do everything I can to help you reach your dreams on the page. Thank you for entrusting me with your work.
For when you have that manuscript written, I provide developmental notes, including overall conceptual feedback, line-edits, questions, structural advice, and either a phone call/skype/in person (if local) follow-up to discuss the notes and any concerns you may have. I will walk you through the editorial revision process as you prepare your project for the next step. Rate is by the word.
For when you are just starting out and don’t know if you want to write a novel, short story, essay, or memoir, I can help coach you through the early stages of the writing process. This can be generalized writing advice or specific to a project. Rate is by the hour.
“Elizabeth was invaluable in helping me shape my first novel The Bookseller. Her eye for character and dialogue is remarkable, and her suggestions were spot-on every time. For the plot, she knew exactly when I needed to speed up events in the book and when to slow them down. Truly, she is a gifted writer and her advice was both practical and priceless.”
-Mark Pryor, author of The Bookseller (The Seventh Street Press) and the Hugo Marston series
‘Liz Silver is one of my most trusted early readers. She has an uncanny way of spotting exactly what I am trying to accomplish and candidly identifying better ways of achieving it. Her line-by-line critiques are astute but she also possesses a rare knack for providing structural guidance. I can hardly imagine sending my work out into the world without first seeking her wise and heartfelt counsel.’
-Emma Claire Sweeney, author of The Waifs and Strays of Sea View Lodge (Legend Press) and The Secret Sisterhood (forthcoming, Houghton Mifflin)
‘Elizabeth Silver has a great eye for detail. I have benefited from her intelligent critical and creative feedback, and I am always grateful for her encouraging and challenging critiques. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services to other writers.’
-Emily Bullock, author of The Longest Fight (Myriad Editions)
